Studium Philosophicum is a philosophical review founded in May 2002 by Gaetano Licata. In the first issues of the review scholars like Pietro Palumbo, Gianni Rigamonti, Andrea Le Moli, Luciano Sesta, Giuseppe Vicari and Giuseppe Girgenti, student of Giovanni Reale, collaborated with the editorial board. Studium Philosophicum publishes essays on general philosophical arguments, but it is also specialized in issues of philosophy of science, theoretical philosophy, philosophy of language and logic, as well as ethics and bioethics. The review has published proceedings of philosophical workshops of the statal University of Palermo and today it has an international editorial board; each volume is published approximately every three years. The review employs a double-blind peer review system and joins the CORIFI - "Coordinamento delle Riviste Italiane di Filosofia". Since its birth Studium Philosophicum has published works of young scholars and notorius authors, for a free discussion of ideas, beyond the principle of authority.
